Scoooters
Scooters parked outside Dacun station
Yet more scooters! Call my blog a bore if you must but I just could not resist posting one more photo of scooters. What caught my eye here were the mirrors that were all pointing in the same direction, which struck me as unusual. There is a certain order here that goes out the window once the machines spring into life. Walking through the city is similar to jaywalking on an autobahn, so scooters become really the only sensible form of transport if you are not tired of living. People of all ages ride them including young children pinned between their parents knees. Motorbikes on the other hand are rare and banned on certain roads which indicates the fine line that the two-wheeler brigade tread. Here I can imagine scooter riders looking down on 'bikers' whereas in Europe the reverse is probably truer.
