Saola

Typhoon 'Saola' reaches Taiwan bringing strong winds, rain and grey skies. We get a day off, but going outside even to take some interesting photos is really not on. Strong winds prevent the use of umbrellas to shield the heavy rain so everywhere is deserted as people stay at home.

By mid afternoon I suspect the worst is over and decide the picture is too boring without someone in it so I venture out to test my extra expensive typhoon proof umbrella. The umbrella survives a ten second test but longer than that and it would almost certainly have been ripped to shreds.

Ok, so I added the Egret, but they are very common here especially in the rice fields. I have yet to capture one with my own camera but I am optimistic.
