Yuanlin dragon

Snap shot from the local train as it passes a dragon under construction just outside Yuanlin. It looks very interesting but I cannot imagine what it is for.

I visit the Dragon today (221212) to view it close up but I cannot get much closer than when I was on the train. It is also considerably less interesting when viewed from behind and it only become apparent that it is a dragon once you reach the side of it. To get this photograph I had to walk the length of the houses in the top picture almost to the railway line. However it still is very impressive and I still don't know what it's for...
